The most common problem that we hear from pregnant mums-to-be is morning sickness. There are a ton of remedies out there that are thought to help ease morning sickness, but one that has proven effects is using essential oils.

Essential Oil Blends For Stopping Morning Sickness
Our friend Andrea, a doTERRA essential oil educator, suggests these three essential oil blends to support your body during pregnancy and help ease morning sickness:
Nausea Blends for Morning Sickness:
-
Nausea Blend 1: Ginger and Lemon
-
Nausea Blend 2: Ginger, Lemon, Peppermint and/or Spearmint
-
Nausea Blend 3: DigestZen
How does Ginger help with morning sickness?
Ginger literally blocks the receptor pathways of nausea, peppermint is very soothing to the GI tract, and DigestZen is a blend that includes peppermint and fennel (so it smells like licorice due to the fennel).
How to apply essential oils
Andrea suggests making rollerballs of the above blends and applying them to to your wrists and inhaling deeply, followed by an application to your abdomen. She recommends (and personally likes) using the ginger, lemon, and peppermint blend on the wrists and DigestZen blend on the abdomen. (Another product, DigestZen soft gels, are intended for ingestion, and might help sooth an upset tummy!)
How frequently can essential oils be applied during pregnancy?
What’s the best part about essential oils? You can apply these oils as often as you’d like! Keep them by your bed so that you can start smelling and applying them before your feet even hit the floor.
Another essential oil product we love is Peppermint Beadlets! It’s one drop of peppermint oil, encapsulated in an edible bead. Keep these guys in your purse, and pop one in your mouth after a nice date with your toilet to freshen up your mouth and help sooth your stomach at the same time. Win-win!
Where can I find essential oils
You can find many of these essential oils at your local grocery store or health food store, or you can contact an essential oils distributor for more information.
