Sometimes we forget that FOOD was the original way people healed themselves (back before doctors and Western medicine.) Thankfully, now we have amazing medical doctors, holistic health professionals, vitamin supplements, and a whole other host of things to help keep us healthy.
But with that advancement, we've also begun to depend on them, and we've replaced real FOOD with supplements. That's not ideal.
Pregnancy is the perfect time to clean up your diet and replace some of those supplements with what we call "superfoods."
Superfoods, by definition, are "nutrient-rich foods considered to be especially beneficial for health and well-being."
You might could even argue that pretty much any fruit, vegetable, or source of good fat is a superfood. And we think you'd be right! ;)
